Spanish hospital study highlights inappropriate empiric antibiotic therapy
An observational study conducted in two Spanish hospitals has found that inappropriate empiric antibiotic therapy (IEAT) is frequent in patients with febrile neutropenia (FN) and bloodstream infections, especially those caused by multidrug-resistant gram-negative pathogens, Spanish researchers reported in Clinical Infectious Diseases.
